Me and Baumberg Gymnasium
Since January 23rd, 1993, I've been a teacher at the Baumberg Gymnasium located in Baumberg, Hessen. The subjects I teach are biology, Maths, and English. Overtime, I've noticed from every generation there were new slangs, technology and overall a difference in the social enviroment overtime, like when Grunge was the biggest music genre in the world (thanks to Kurt Cobain and NIRVANA), lots of kids wore NIRVANA "In Utero" shirts and changed how they dressed. During the turn of the millennium, especially the 2010s, a lot of students were influenced by online services like YouTube and up until now: Lots of kids are influenced by TikTok and Instagram.
Instead of being an "unc": I've decided to look into these trends and understand everything behind them. While I fail at understanding a punchline like of "67" I still get some students to laugh and I think it's pretty awesome seeing someone who was born in 1889 getting the jokes that they view as their people.
